In Case of Emergency
WellPower Therapeutic Services does NOT provide emergency or crisis care.
If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately or go to your nearest hospital emergency department or psychiatric hospital if you can do so safely.
Imminent danger of harm to yourself or others is considered an emergency. Always allow trained emergency professionals to assist you. Many law enforcement agencies have Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) officers who are specially trained to respond to psychiatric emergencies and connect individuals with appropriate care.
If you are a victim of sexual assault, do not shower or change clothes. Go immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department—even if you do not intend to press charges.
If You Are an Established Client Experiencing an Emergency
- Get emergency care first. Get to a safe place and call 911.
- Once you are safe (typically after hospital admission or discharge), notify your provider.
- Request a HIPAA authorization if you would like hospital staff to speak directly with your provider.
- Trust the medical professionals caring for you.
- Upon discharge, request another HIPAA authorization to send your hospital records to WellPower. Contact us for a list of requested records.
- Schedule a follow-up appointment within one week of discharge.
Call 911 any time there is imminent danger to yourself or others.
